Product Questions
What’s the deal with thread count? Your cotton sheets are only 300 and 430 thread count. That’s kind of low, right?
Excellent question! The reason we max out at 430 threads is that the very maximum number of yarns you can have in cotton is 215 in the warp and 215 in the weft. 215 + 215 = 430. Hence, our maximum number.
Wait. Then how does a 1000 thread count sheet get made?
Well, you get a higher thread count than 430 if you twist multiple yarns together. This can make the sheets stiff and hot. And frankly…thread count only matters to a point. Our 300 TC Hem Stripe sheets are buttery soft and incredibly breathable. Our 430 TC cotton sateen sheets are a wonderful sateen, a weave with a bit more body than a percale. For all our cotton sheets, we use single pick (meaning just one yarn, not multiple yarns twisted together) extra long staple cotton. The extra long staple gives the cotton a smooth, silky feel, and avoids pilling.
One last sheet question. What about silk sheets?
There is a special spot in our hearts for silk charmeuse sheets: this was Ann’s first sheeting that she made. Silk is measured in mommes (pronounced like an Egyptian mummy) - our silk charmeuse is 19 momme, which makes it lightweight enough for sheets, pillowcases, duvets, and shams, while still being one of the most durable fibers in the world. Two bonuses of silk charmeuse pillowcases: your hair will look better and the lines on your face won’t be as crazy when you wake up.
What’s the difference between a sham and a pillow?
If we call something a sham, it is a typical-size pillow cover: king, euro, or standard. The fill is not included as many people already have these fills in their home. We do sell these fills separately. Anything we call a pillow includes the fill with the cost of the pillow.
What’s the difference between a coverlet and a duvet?
A coverlet is a bedspread that is often quilted or padded and lined. They vary in weight but are generally at the lighter end of the spectrum. A duvet is a soft, flat envelope of fabric, which is then filled with a separate down or down alternative duvet insert for warmth and zipped or buttoned closed at the bottom. The weight of a duvet is mainly determined by the weight of the insert used with it.
Coverlets and duvets can be both practical and decorative. They can be layered together or used alone depending on your sleep and style preferences. Please get in touch if you need any assistance selecting the right items for your bed.
Do your duvets have corner ties?
Yes, all of our duvets have ties in the inner corners to secure duvet inserts in place.
Talk to me about duvet & sham fills. How do I choose?
There are two options for duvet inserts and sham/pillow inserts: hypoallergenic gel poly, or feather/down. If you have a down allergy, then our hypoallergenic options are the ones for you.
The high quality poly and feather/down duvet inserts are both medium weights, suitable for year-round use. The lightweight duvet fill is a hypoallergenic option that's great for decorative or display purposes, and the best choice for those who sleep hot.
Both kind of pillow fills are perky, and the only other difference to know is that the hypo-allergenic pillow fills do not hold a karate chop well, whereas the feather/down pillow fills do!
A lot of really nice bedding is white, like a fancy hotel. Do you do white bedding?
We do! You'll find our white bedding here. But to be honest, we are more well-known for our incredible fabrics that are not plain white: Opium, Nature, Contour, Wild Silk, the list goes on. Lots of color, texture, and pattern.
Can I get something customized?
We hope so! Please get in touch. Not everything we conjure up is feasible, but we do our best.
Do you sell the fabrics by the yard?
We do! We offer almost all of our fabrics by the yard.

Product Sizing
I have an extra deep mattress.  Will your sheets fit?
All of our sheeting will fit mattresses up to 17’’ deep. Not deep enough? Please get in touch for a custom quote.
Do you make California king sized bedding?
Yes, all of our sheeting is available in California king. Our king coverlets and duvets are very generously sized and fit almost all California king beds. To make sure that they’ll work for yours, please check the dimensions of the item against your mattress and bed height, and consider how you’ll be styling the product (how far up the bed do you want it to go? will it be tucked in?). For further assistance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
What about twin, twin xl or split king, and full size bedding?
Please find our selection of twin bedding here. For those with split kings, we carry fitted sheets in twin xl. We don’t offer full size, but our queen duvets and coverlets will fit full size beds beautifully.
If you’re looking for a size that we don’t stock, please get in touch for a custom quote.

I have darling, adorable children who are often covered in grape jelly, as well as a dog who sheds a lot. But I like beautiful linens! Which of your collections are a good fit for my lifestyle?
Your life sounds like my life. We have loads of washable bedding: sheets, coverlets, duvet covers. Here is everything we make that is washable.
I sleep hot. Which bedding is right for me?
For hot sleepers, coverlets or duvets with a lightweight fill are the best choice for a cool night’s sleep. Look for breathable materials like cotton and linen to keep you comfortable and washable products to keep your linens looking great. Suggestions include our Hemstripe Sheets, Linen/Cotton Ready-to-bed coverlets and shams, and the Brushstroke duvet set paired with a lightweight duvet fill.
Where are your products made?
Our products are made in Europe, Asia, and the USA. We manufacture internationally and domestically in order to bring the finest materials and craftsmanship to your door.

Care
So, how should I take care of my bedding?
The most important step is to read the care label. If an item is washable, the magic formula for perfect cleaning is: pH neutral detergent (like The Laundress), cool water, and low/no heat in the dryer. All of this protects the fibers in your linens, making them last longer and feel better.

What is your design philosophy?
Make it beautiful and make it easy to live with. Make sure to have fun doing it. Let the fabrics shine. Mix textures: something smooth and shiny; with something highly textural. Don’t be too fussy. You’ll hopefully be sleeping in that bed, right?
Why don’t you have stores?
Boy howdy! Well, we had a store in New York City up until August 2019. After living through an 18-month renovation of the building which was like an all-day dental drill in our heads and a steam pipe exploding so we couldn’t access our offices, store, or warehouse for a week, we decided it was probably time to get the hell out of dodge. We love our HQ in Western Mass.
To find our products in a store near you, please check our dealer locator.
Why does your company exist?
We exist to bring you amazing bed linens that feel incredible, look great, and are a good value. Your home, especially your bedroom, is a sanctuary, and we want to help you create and nourish that feeling.
