American Wing
Ever since its establishment in 1870, the Museum has acquired important examples of American art. Today, the American Wing's ever-evolving collection comprises some 20,000 works by African American, Euro American, Native American, and Latin American artists, ranging from the colonial to early-modern period.

Hudson River Scene
Inspired by the majesty of the Hudson River School paintings, these enormous pillows allow the painting's richness to shine through while eliciting the feeling of viewing the painting by virtue of their enormous size.

Tree of Life
Inspired by a vernacular American quilt from the 19th Century, our Tree of Life collection interprets the quilt into an embroidered pillow, a tone-on-tone jacquard, and bordered throw.

View on the Catskill
Considered the founder of the Hudson River School, Thomas Cole captured the essence of the sublime in nature. As he said: "We are still in Eden - shall we turn from it?"

The Valley of Wyoming
Featuring a rendering of the Wyoming Valley of Northeastern Pennsylvania, this landscape pillow was a commission by Milton Courtright.

Tennessee
Wyant's Tennessee is a transitional piece between the precise, linear Hudson River School and the freer Barbizon style.
